Encounter Diversity
This summer, become an Ethnographer
Courses at Genesis provide a challenging, hands-on seminar experience without the pressure of tests or grades. The “World Religions: Encountering Diversity” course considers the binaries in various world religions: insiders and outsiders, individuals and community, human and divine, immanence and transcendence, personal and scholarly, sacred and profane.
-
Explore and challenge the ways the religious traditions of the world draw boundaries to define individuals, their relationships and communities, and the divine.
-
Visit religious centers, experience worship services, and meet with practitioners of different religions.
-
Reflect on how learning about a wide variety of traditions can help you learn more about your own religious and spiritual life.
