Do you feel like you want to engage in politics on a different level?
Join this political puppet theater workshop and learn techniques for sharpening your own thoughts and sharing them in zany entertaining ways with your peers. Learn how to give your thoughts and desires meaningful theatrical form. Bring your creativity to the democractic process. We will learn from visiting artists and activists about how they are using art and media to bring their issues into public discussion. We will watch archival videos of other politically engaged performance, and make our own short pieces. Students will work collaboratively on every phase of production from designing and building, to scripting, rehearsing and performing. No experience necessary.
