John Hose

John Hose has served as executive assistant to the president and associate vice president for university affairs since 1983. In addition to his principal responsibilities, he is the administrator of the Mortimer Hays-Brandeis Traveling Fellowship and serves as Brandeis University’s representative to the Board of Governors of the University Press of New England, a publishing consortium whose members include Brandeis University Press, Dartmouth College Press, University of New Hampshire Press, Northeastern University Press, Tufts University Press and University of Vermont Press. From 1994 to 1998, he served as chair of the UPNE Board of Governors.
Prior to joining the Brandeis administration in 1983, Hose served for three years as executive assistant to the president at the University of New Hampshire. From 1975 to 1980, he was assistant dean of the School of General Studies at Queens College of the City University of New York (CUNY), and from 1970 to 1975, he served as executive officer of CUNY's Faculty Senate.
