Jessie is a Wisconsin native who joined the study abroad department in May 2017. She holds a B.A. from the University of Saint Thomas, Minnesota in Political Science and Justice and Peace Studies and an M.A. in International Leadership. As an undergraduate, she studied abroad her sophomore spring semester in Australia taking classes in the Department of International Studies at Bond University, and her junior year January term in Eastern Europe studying comparative politics in Poland, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine. In 2012 Jessie wanted to expand her global knowledge and moved to southern South Korea where she taught English and traveled throughout Asia learning about their culture and traditions. During her masters program she spent July of 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Paraty, and Salvador examining international leadership in the contexts of Brazil.
It was because of her experiences studying and living abroad Jessie decided she wanted to pursue a career in international education. She brings with her to Brandeis extensive experience studying and living abroad and five years of professional experience in higher education. She is looking forward to assisting Brandeis students gain international experience at the office of study abroad!
