Comparing the Cost of Study Abroad

The Office of Study Abroad is here to help you understand the various costs associated with studying abroad.

Studying abroad will almost always involve costs that wouldn't normally be part of a semester spent at Brandeis. For example, you'll be responsible for arranging a flight to and from your study abroad location. There may be costs to enter, such as acquiring a passport if you don't have one or applying for a visa if you need one. But other expected costs will also look different than they would on campus. For example, there are many study abroad programs in locations where the cost of living is significantly lower than the Boston area, meaning that your housing and meal costs will be lower than they typically would be in Waltham. 

Here are some examples of how the cost of studying abroad in Mexico, the Netherlands, and Denmark can be less expensive, about the same, or more expensive than spending a semester at Brandeis:
