Approved Sites for Israel Brandeis requires that students studying abroad in Israel must have taken two semesters of Hebrew or the equivalent before going abroad. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. Students should apply to Israeli universities through the overseas offices in New York City. Please note: Differences in the Israeli and American calendars may sometimes make it impossible to attend an Israeli university for fall semester only.
