Application Materials

The following materials must be submitted to the Office of Study Abroad by the published deadline. Application decisions are generally put in student mailboxes within two weeks of the deadline. 


Brandeis Study Abroad Application

The Brandeis Application form required the following types of information:
  • Contact Information
  • Photo
  • Primary and Alternate Program Choices
  • Proposal of Study (course choices)
  • Progress in your Major(s)/ Minor(s)
  • Study Abroad faculty Liaison Signature(s)
  • Student Financial Aid Signature (when applicable)
  • Statement of Agreement

Personal Statement

You are required to write a personal statement of approximately 1,000 words. Assistant from the Writing Center is available for this statement if requested.


Resume

A copy of your current resume is a requirement of the application. You may wish to seek advice from the Hiatt Career Center in order to effectively demonstrate any work, volunteer or internship experience as well as supplementary information regarding memberships and affiliations with professional, religious or social organizations as it relates to your application to study abroad.


Letter of Recommendation
You must submit a letter of recommendation from a Brandeis faculty member.  For information regarding the Faculty Recommendation, please see this Handout. Faculty may submit a copy of the recommendation they have written for the external program.

Declaration of Major

You must officially declare a primary major before you apply to study abroad. Forms are available in Academic Services (Usdan 130).
