Getting the Brandeis Student Experience

In addition to the Brandeis Global Ambassadors, many study abroad returnees are eager to talk to you about their experience overseas. When you find a program you like, ask a staff member to provide you with contact information for students who went on that program.

Similarly, Brandeis' Study Abroad publication, Wander, is a wonderful place to read about past students' experiences.

Study Abroad Ambassadors

The Office of Study Abroad is pleased to have Study Abroad Ambassadors, recent study abroad returnees, who have volunteered to talk with fellow students about their study abroad programs and offer any advice or suggestions. Feel free to contact the ambassadors listed below with your questions.

Erica Cooperberg
Erica
Erica Cooperberg is a senior from Long Island, NY pursuing a major in English and a double-minor in Journalism and Anthropology. She spent the spring semester of her junior year abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark with DIS (Danish Institute of Study Abroad) studying Media & Communications. While in Copenhagen, Erica interned at The Copenhagen Post, the city's only English newspaper, and was even published in the paper! Although she doesn't miss Copenhagen's freezing winter, she still misses her weekly onsdagssnegls! When she's not reminiscing about her time in Copenhagen, Erica is involved in Brandeis' Mock Trial Association; writes a weekly column for The Justice; participates in a Waltham Group volunteer organization, Kids' Club and teaches at a local temple in Lexington. She is very excited to be a Study Abroad Ambassador and is eager to help prospective study abroaders find the perfect program!

Keith Frankston
Keith
Keith Frankston is a senior, hailing from the distant lands of Newton, Massachusetts. He happens to be one of those bizarre humans who enjoys theoretical mathematics and plans on going to grad school for it. In support of his math habit, he attended the Budapest Semesters in Mathematics program in Spring 2012 where had a great time learning math (in English, not Hungarian), exploring Hungary, and traveling around Europe whenever possible. He has worked with two Brandeis professors on math research projects that he will gladly tell you all about whether or not you understand them. He has also inhabited the Classical Studies department and is working as a CLARC intern this year. His Classics minor led him to spend his spring break exploring Roman ruins and marinara pizza in Italy. Keith enjoys soccer, other random IM sports, and Go (the game not the imperative). Ask him about his time in Hungary if you want to hear about: Europe, math, the politics of Hungary, life without clothes dryers or learning a foreign language so obscure that they don't have textbooks to study from.
