Major Decisions

Major Decisions
All Brandeis students must officially declare a major by the end of their fourth semester.
This means a copy of the major declaration form must be submitted (electronically by the UAH or paper) to the Office of the Registrar in Kutz 121 before you leave for break to avoid a hold being placed on your registration of classes.
Have questions on what a major is and how to declare it?

FIVE STEPS TO DECLARING A MAJOR
1-Pick up a Major Declaration Form from the Office of Academic Services, Usdan 130.
2-Schedule an appointment with the Undergraduate Advising Head (UAH) for the major you wish to declare. Refer to this UAH list for each UAH's contact information.
3-Before your appointment, PREPARE! List the courses you've already taken and review your major's requirements in the University Bulletin. Review the "How to fill out the major/minor declaration form."
4-Meet with the UAH and discuss what you have prepared, including a potential faculty advisor in the department.
5-Bring the signed and completed YELLOW copy of the form back to the Office of the Registrar (Kutz 121) or the UAH may also submit the form electronically.
