DID YOU KNOW.............
1. The major that you wrote on your application form is not an official major declaration. You still must meet with the Undergraduate Advising Head from the department and have the proper paperwork signed.
2. Transfer students who enter with junior status have until the end of their first semester at Brandeis to declare a major. Students entering with sophomore status have until the end of the their second semester.
3. Students are not required to have minors or more than one major.
Declaring a Major or Minor
HOW TO DECLARE A MAJOR/MINOR:
1-Pick up a Major Declaration Form and list of UAHs from the Office of Academic Services, Usdan 130.
2-Schedule an appointment with the Undergraduate Advising Head (UAH) of the department.
3-Before your appointment, PREPARE!
a-Look at the requirements for the major in the University Bulletin.
b-Fill out the form with classes you've already taken and, if known, any that you plan to take.
c-Fill out a Petition for Major/Minor Transfer Credit form (both sides) for the classes from your previous institution that you think may count toward that major. Bring it, along with syllabi for the courses (if you have them), to the appointment.
4-Meet with the UAH and discuss what you have prepared.
5-Bring the signed and completed YELLOW copy of the form directly to the Office of the Registrar, Kutz 121.
