Provost's Undergraduate Research Fund

The Provost's Undergraduate Research Fund supports research projects for students during the summer or for an academic semester; it also provides funding to students who are presenting their work at conferences. To apply for a Provost's URF, a student must have a faculty mentor who will oversee the student's research project. Grants can also provide helpful funding to students who are completing a senior thesis.  ALL disciplines are welcome, including all areas of the creative arts and the humanities.  For inspiration, check out a list of the current and past URF grantees, their Faculty Mentors, and their projects.

Amount of Award:
Amounts vary based on the Provost's URF committee's assessment. Summer awards often cover summer housing. Each type of award is capped at a particular amount (below, in parentheses)

Types of Awards:
Senior Thesis Funding ($150 maximum)
Conference Travel Funding ($250 maximum)
Academic Year Funding ($300 maximum)
Summer Funding ($2500 maximum)

Application Deadline:
Summer 2016 applications must be received by March 15, 2016. All other applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If you have any questions, or would like to meet in person to discuss your application, please email Meredith Monaghan at monaghan@brandeis.edu.
