Health-related Student Groups
Brandeis has truly an astounding selection of student run clubs and organizations, many of which focus on health issues both within the Brandeis community and in the general public. Some of these include:
The Pre-Health Society
The Pre-Health Society provides valuable information and programs for those interested in going to medical school, or any other health professions’ school. Students interested in health and medical topics in general are also welcome to join.
Brandeis Emergency Medical Corps (BEMCo)
BEMCo is a student run emergency medical first response service. BEMCo members are Massachusetts state certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic year. Since its inception in 1983, BEMCo has responded to over 4000 calls ranging from sprained ankles to childbirth and cardiac arrest. BEMCo offers a number of emergency first aid courses throughout the academic year.
Foundation for the International Medical Relief of Children
The purpose of FIMRC-Brandeis University is to raise money for FIMRC's international fundraising efforts, perform community service projects each year, serve the school community as an informational resource in areas such as international relief, and children's aid, and personally benefit students academically as well as through giving them opportunities to learn about fundraising, participate in community service projects, and travel to help with relief efforts first hand.
The Health Education Leadership Program (HELP)
HELP is open to students who are interested in a peer leadership role on campus regarding health and wellness. Students are trained to speak in residence halls or at events on campus about health and wellness issues. In addition, HELP provides free educational materials at tables in Usdan Student Center, publishes the Wellness on Campus Newsletter and serves as a resource to all the various other health-related student groups.
Peers Educating About Responsible Choices (PERC)
P.E.R.C, a group of specially trained peer educators, informs others about the responsibilities and risks associated with drinking and the dangers of drug use. P.E.R.C is affiliated with BACCHUS and GAMMA Peer Education Network, an international association of college and university based peer education programs focusing on alcohol abuse prevention and other related student health and safety issues.
'Deis Dental Society
The Brandeis University Pre-Dental Society educates members on opportunities within the dental profession, provides dental education community service, and unifies the pre-dental community at Brandeis.

Because SSIS is a non-profit organization, all items are sold at cost. SSIS’ services are completely confidential.
