Support for Pre-Health Students

Within the Office of Academic Services, many resources are made available specifically for pre-health students, including the following:

The Health Professions Resource Library, located in the Office of Academic Services (Usdan Student Center, 2nd Floor). The library includes admissions literature from almost every medical, dental, osteopathic, and veterinary school in the United States. You will also find in the library information on a number of other health professions’ schools and books about various health careers.

Individual advising and planning, available by appointment with the Assistant Dean for Health Professions Advising. Call x63470 or stop by Usdan to set up an appointment.

Group information sessions for students at various stages of their program. Though not required, we recommend that first year-students and sophomores attend an information session before making an appointment with the Assistant Dean.

An advisor from the Premedical Board of Advisors. All juniors and seniors in the process of applying to medical school are assigned a premedical advisor.

A composite letter of recommendation. All Brandeis students and alumni are eligible to utilize our composite letter service, in which a summary is written regarding your candidacy to health professions schools and sent to the schools that you designate. Health profession schools prefer composite letters of recommendation to individual letters.
