Troubleshooting: ISSO Online Check-In

Here are some tips for common ISSO Online Check-In errors.

I cannot access the form.
Make sure you are using the correct browser.  Currently the online check-in form is supported by Internet Explorer 6 and higher, Firefox 2 and higher and Safari 2 and higher.

When I hit the SUBMIT button, I receive an error message, “There was a problem with your submission. Errors have been highlighted below.”
This means a form field was left blank.  Don’t forget to fill out all of the form fields.  If you do not yet have information to fill out every form field, then write “N/A” in the form field. For example, if you do not yet have a local U.S. phone number, write “N/A” in the U.S. Local Phone Number form field. Note that after you correct the error(s), you may need to re-attach your visa documents.

When I upload my visa document files, I receive an error message.
If your visa document file(s) is large, it may be too large to upload to the online form.  If you scanned your visa documents in 1 file, you may want to scan each visa document separately and upload the files individually to the form.  If you scanned your visa docs separately, make sure your visa document files are saved in PDF format. Another thing to try is to save your files as "minimized" PDFs.  This will be an option when you choose what to save your file as.

You may also want to check  that the whole form is filled out. If you have not completed each required section on the form, it may prompt you to fill out the section(s) and re-attach your visa documents.

I did not receive a confirmation message or a confirmation email to my Brandeis account after hitting the SUBMIT button.
This means your form was not actually submitted.  Troubleshoot to retry submitting the form.

If your problem is not addressed above or if your problem is not resolved by the above troubleshooting tips, please email isso@brandeis.edu with the subject line “ISSO Check-In Problem – {write your name here}”.  In the email, explain your problem and an ISSO staff member will investigate the problem and reply as soon as possible.
