ISSOnews Tax Edition
The ISSO has published its annual “Tax Edition” to provide information and resources for international students and scholars at Brandeis University to complete, along with their American peers, their income tax returns for the calendar year 2012.

Are you finishing your degree in May and planning to apply for OPT? If so, we encourage you to file later this month! OPT applications are typically taking 2 1/2 to 3 months before you get the OPT card.

LOOKING FOR JOB SEARCH TIPS AND STRATEGIES? If you are graduating and want to work in the U.S., or if you want some preparation tips for finding an internship, we invite you to join Ruth Brigham from the ISSO and Jane Pavese from the Hiatt Career Center for a joint workshop on OPT, CPT and job searching tips. Ruth will provide information about OPT, CPT and the application process, and Jane will present some job search tips, some useful web sites, and she will also talk about strategies and goal setting.

Employment Options Beyond Practical Training with Attorney Richard Costa

Mr. Costa will speak on various visa options after F-1 Optional Practical Training and J-1 Academic Training. He will provide an overview of the H-1B Specialty Worker Visa and an overview of permanent residency. He makes himself available for questions after the session, so it's a good opportunity for you to ask questions.
