OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO ISRAEL AND GAZA

Nov. 16, 2012

The Staff of the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO) are saddened at the news over the recent days of escalated violence in Israel and Gaza.  For all of us watching the reports on the news, it has been very difficult to think of anything but our students at Brandeis from the region and for the safety of family members, friends, colleagues, fellow students and alumni who are in the region; and hoping that a peace will return very soon.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who are affected by these events.

Being away from home during these times makes it even more vital to utilize the support networks available to everyone here at Brandeis.  We want to provide this reminder to encourage anyone who needs support or assistance to feel free to contact the ISSO, or any Brandeis staff member, as we are prepared to help in any way we can.

It is also important at this time to reach out to those closest to you who may be dealing with these events -- those who are concerned about family or friends in this region, or concerns about being called for military service.  Student Life Staff, Community Living, the Chaplaincy, and the Counseling Center are also available to assist members of our community,  We are here for you.

Please do not hesitate to contact the ISSO if we can help in any way. Feel free to stop by the ISSO (Kutz Hall, Room 215), or we can be reached by email
(isso@brandeis.edu) or by phone (781-736-3480).

Our thoughts and prayers to all during this difficult time.
