Food at Brandeis

02 Nov 2009, 1:00PM

As a tour guide, I get asked a lot about the food at Brandeis. Is it good? Do I like it? The answer to both is yes. It's hard to NOT like the food at Brandeis - there are so many different options from which to choose! I'm a big fan of the food here also because the dining hall workers cook it right in front of you, to order, so you know it hasn't been sitting under a heat lamp for hours.

If you come to visit Brandeis, and end up taking a tour with me, you will not only get great information about Brandeis, but you will also hear about my favorite places to eat on campus and recommendations about what to order. For those of you who may not be so lucky, I've put a few below.

Bon appétit!

The Faculty Club: One of the "classier" places to eat on campus, I usually only go here for special occasions (taking a professor out to lunch, or for the fabulous Halloween Buffet!) If you go here, get the butternut squash soup - it's amazing!

Sherman Dining Hall: Sherman is buffet style, which means you can eat as much as you want! In addition to the great stir fry station, I also love to make ice cream floats!

Quiznos: On a cold day, definitely try the Broccoli Cheddar soup.

Chums: Our on campus coffee house. If you go, try the grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. They also serve ice cream from Lizzy's a local ice cream shop which is located in downtown Waltham. It's homemade and absolutely delicious!
