'DeisBikes Spotting

29 Oct 2009, 3:00PM

Thrift stores are of course the ideal place to purchase your various Halloween costume parts, therefore it is no surprise that everyone seems to rush the giant Global Thrift (which has quite the selection) in the middle of Moody Street in Waltham.  I was shopping for a outfit when all of a sudden I saw this outside the store:

DeisBikes

The neat part of this picture is the bikes, which, if you look closely have "DeisBike" license plates.  This past year students in the Environmental Studies program started up 'DeisBikes, in which members of the community could rent a bike for a day for free to get them around campus.  What I didn't realize is that students actually take the bikes off into Waltham to explore Moody Street. Even though there are free shuttles available to ferry students to their various favorite spots in Waltham, it's great to know that students are trying out alternative, more environmentally friendly means of transportation.

I just wanted to share that quick little image, hope everyone has a great Halloween and that your thrift store shopping is successful!
