Brandeis is one big performance venue.

Check out an art exhibit at the Rose Art Museum, home of one of the finest collections of contemporary art in New England.

Take in a concert or comedy show at Cholmondeley's, the campus coffeehouse.

Attend a show by the student-run Undergraduate Theater Collective or a concert at Gosman. Recent shows have included Flogging Molly, Broken Social Scene, O.A.R., John Mayer, the Roots, Jason Mraz, Wilco and Talib Kweli.

Looking for culture? Try the Leonard Bernstein Festival for the Creative Arts; Culture X, a student party celebrating cultural diversity; Pachanga, the International Club dance party; or MELA, the South Asian Students Association's annual cultural extravaganza.

Best 'Friends'

The campus coffeehouse, Cholmondeley's (AKA "Chums"), is said to be the inspiration for Central Perk on the NBC hit series "Friends." The show's co-creators, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, are Brandeis graduates.
