Intercultural Center
Brandeis was one of the first universities in the country to devote an entire building to an Intercultural Center, and its longstanding success is an example that has been studied by other universities. The Intercultural Center is a meeting place for clubs and organizations, which are open to all and whose members celebrate different cultures and heritages.
The center is alive with parties, concerts, dances and seminars. Ideas conceived in the center have gone on to become community-wide traditions. Among them are Culture X, a multicultural celebration of dance, music and poetry, and Pachanga, the international dance party that draws up to 1,000 students every year.
Asian Awareness Week, Caribbean Week, Hispanic Heritage Month and the Vietnamese Spring Festival are just a few of the other events originating at the Intercultural Center that unite and enliven life for the entire Brandeis community.
