Midyear Orientation

As a midyear student, you will have many opportunities to get to know the university and integrate with the campus. These activities will include Admitted Students Day, forming relationships with Roosevelt Fellows (upperclassmen who serve as peer academic advisers) and communicating with faculty and specially designated midyear mentors.

The midyear orientation program is designed to support you during your transition to college. Midyear mentors are Brandeis students, many of whom also started midyear. They will serve as resources and role models to you beginning in May and continuing through spring 2013. Your Roosevelt Fellow and your mentor will be in touch with you on a regular basis to help provide information and advice about academics, housing and campus resources, and to answer any questions you may have.

Throughout the summer and fall 2012, you will receive newsletters, emails and other announcements from students and staff. An online discussion forum will be established to facilitate your communication with the university and other midyear students. Once you create a Brandeis email address, you can sign on to my.brandeis.edu to participate in online discussions, check out the latest activities at the university, and discover campus resources. Most important, you and the entire midyear class will have your own orientation program when you arrive in January, where you will meet your midyear mentor.

Faculty and staff advisers are assigned to midyear students over the summer and are available to provide advice regarding course registration, academic options and other university policies and processes before the start of the fall semester.
