Change through Connection: Conversations about Teaching, Learning and Exchange

A lunch-time conversation highlighting the recent projects undertaken by Brandeis faculty, staff and students to enhance the partnership took place in late November. Susan Lanser, Marya Levenson, Bob Lange, and Elaine Wong presented on their October visit to Al-Quds centered around effective teaching and learning. Brandeis undergraduates Garrett Nada '10 and Gabriela Lupatkin '09 reflected on the recent Summer Institute undergraduate exchange in Turkey.

"Meet the Author" Series with President Sari Nusseibeh

On October 11, Sari Nusseibeh, President of Al-Quds, visited Brandeis to talk about his recently-published Once Upon a Country: A Palestinian Life. President Nusseibeh also met with Brandeis President Jehuda Reinharz, faculty, administrators and students to talk about the future of the partnership. Read more.

Welcome Reception for Administration and Finance Visitors

The Brandeis Community welcomed seven members of the Al-Quds administration in May 2006. The reception featured a photo exhibit of Al-Quds University and the Old City of Jerusalem, and provided the opportunity for the Brandeis community to greet the Al-Quds visitors, welcome them to Brandeis, and talk informally with them.

Bringing Al-Quds to Brandeis: A Palestinian/American Celebration and Exhibit

The Brandeis community welcomed a delegation from Al-Quds University during a celebration and exhibit from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, at the Shapiro Campus Center Atrium.

The event gave Brandeis faculty, staff, and students the opportunity to interact personally with the visitors from Al-Quds, who were at Brandeis from March 19 to 30. It featured a photo exhibition of Al-Quds University and the Old City of Jerusalem, and included Palestinian food and music.

The Al-Quds delegation included four students and one professor from the American Studies Institute at Al-Quds participating in the American Studies Academic Exchange.
