Community

Brandeis students contribute to the community while also developing skills and interests by working with faculty members and other mentors in community-engaged learning.

Students also develop leadership skills while developing and sustaining university-community partnerships through the Waltham Group, where each project is facilitated by student coordinators, or leading university clubs.

Students also learn about possible careers that they never envisioned as they learn from other students in our diverse university. 

OPPORTUNITY

Brandeis offers students extraordinary opportunities to explore their passions, interests and possible careers through semester internships, a semester or year studying abroad, work with a research scientist, or participation in the new Justice Brandeis semester.

Students can also learn about the emerging areas of biomedical, behavioral and quantitative sciences by gaining hands-on experiences in our Health, Science, and Society program or discuss the latest industry trends with film stars through the Film and Visual Media Studies Program-sponsored Meet the Artist series.

JUSTICE

Danielle Hollenbeck Pringle '10 worked at the HOPE Center in Ghana in child welfare clinics and on the Community Nutrition project.

Opportunities abound to explore possible professions while doing good. Want to make a difference in the lives of young people? Do your student teaching in Waltham or Boston.

Interested in the law? Participate in a legal studies internship or join Professor Laura Goldin's Environmental Studies students at the Waltham Tenant Clinic.

Want to make a difference in the lives of people abroad? Apply to become a Sorensen Fellow through the International Center for Ethics, Justice, and Public Life or take part in one of the many international internship opportunities available to Brandeis students.
