Three Sisters

By Anton Chekhov
Adaptation by Tracy Letts
Directed by Adrianne Krstansky
Featuring Craig Mathers and Janet Morrison
Sept 30-Oct 10
Laurie Theater
East Coast Premiere!

Tracy Letts (Pulitzer-prize and Tony-winning author of August: Osage County, Bug, Killer Joe and Superior Donuts) adapts Anton Chekhov’s most enduring masterpiece about a family’s loss of something once great and the dissolution of the ties that held them together. Irina, Masha and Olga along with brother Andrey long for a return to their days of prosperity and sophistication in their native Moscow.  But their exile to a remote, provincial area of Russia makes that return less and less likely, as time and opportunity elude them all.  Can redemption and simple joy be found through their work?  The prospect of returning to a life they loved keeps them moving forward, though not easily in Anton Chekhov’s masterful play.   Featuring  Craig Mathers as Chebuytkin and Janet Morrison as Anfisa.

Three Sisters is made possible through generous support from the Laurie Foundation, and the Brandeis Arts Council.
