The Application Process
> Application Time LineThere are two processes in which applicants participate as they apply to professional schools. One is the application process to the schools themselves, and the other is the process required to utilize the services of Brandeis' Board of Premedical Advisors. Pay careful attention to the dates and deadlines for both.
| Fall Semester | Attend an Applicant Workshop' obtain a copy of the Premed/Pre-Health Applicant Packet. |
| November-January | Receive your advisor assignment. Begin drafting your personal statement. Have an initial meeting with your advisor if you desire. |
| Late January | Sign up for your interview with the Board of Premedical Advisors. |
| February-April | Interview with the Board of Premedical Advisors. |
| April-May | Begin working on your primary application (submit your application as early as possible during the summer). Pre-med/vet/podiatry/PA students take MCAT. |
| May-June | Be sure that all of your letters of recommendation are submitted to the Office of Academic Services. |
| June-August | Letters from the Premedical Board of Advisors are written and sent. Receive and complete secondary applications. Pre-dents take DAT; Pre-vets/PA take GRE. |
| September | Interview with the Premedical Board of Advisors if you were abroad in Fall semester. |
| October-April | Pre-optometry take OAT. Interview at schools schools. Acceptances are sent out. |
| May 15 | Last day to for pre-medical students with multiple acceptances to decide where they will matriculate. |
