at Brandeis University

BIMA takes place at Brandeis University, a world-class university founded under the sponsorship of the American Jewish community, in Waltham, Massachusetts, 9 miles west of Boston. BIMA has access to top-notch arts facilities as well as superb artists and arts-educators in the Boston area.

BIMA takes advantage of the rich cultural life on campus, in and around nearby Boston and throughout the Berkshires region of Western Massachusetts. Participants attend concerts, performances, and exhibitions at cultural institutions including the Museum of Fine Arts, Shakespeare in the Park, Tanglewood, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Jacob’s Pillow, MASS MoCA, and the Clark Art Institute.

BIMA offers its participants a taste of the college experience. The Brandeis University admissions office offers a special informational session for BIMA participants. A block of time is reserved during the summer for BIMA students entering 12th grade to schedule interviews with Brandeis admissions officers.
