Collaboration
Explore what it means to be part of a Jewish community of artists.
Through collaboration and improvisation across our arts majors, BIMA sets aside time to ask questions and deepen your awareness of community, Judaism, artistic expression, and the relationships among them.
You will ask yourself:
- Who are we as a diverse community of teens, artists and educators?
- What is involved in building a community of Jews from different places and perspectives?
- How do our identities as artists intersect with our identities as Jews?
- What is my place in the BIMA community? In the larger Jewish community? In society?
- How should the BIMA community approach and celebrate Shabbat?
- How can we take what we discover this summer at BIMA back to our homes?
Several afternoons each week you will have the chance to work with a variety of other artists to create multi-disciplinary works. This is an opportunity, outside of your arts major, to break the rules, explore, connect, and have fun.
