Who says NJ sleeps in the shadow of New York? The BNC Concordia Chapter had a successful line up of events for the Summer of 2013. Their bulletin, sent to members on June of 2013, listed June 18th for a "speakers bureau/study group" program; August 15th, "summer film fest and luncheon", where members will watch and discuss the popular movie "Slumdog Millionaire"; August 24th, "shop for a cause"; September 25th, "aquarium/haddonfield trip" and; October 27th, "puccini concert". The "New & Prospective" member reception, held on April 18th, was a wonderful event that featured Bobby Brescia, a music entertainer. After the event, the chapter welcomed 19 new members. In total, Concordia chapter membership (including lifetime members) is at 263! And boy does it show. The more members, the more programs and creative opportunities. In May of 2013, a luncheon was held for Joe Altman to thank him for his outstanding job as the chair of the MOB (Men of Brandeis). His successors are Ed Ringel and Irwin Bialer. Members for the 2013-2014 year look forward to the exciting Book & Author luncheon, featuring Letty Cottin Pogrebin on her insightful new book, How To Be a Friend to a Friend Who's Sick.
