About the Greater Washington DC Chapter
The Greater Washington DC Chapter offers many exciting learning opportunities and events in the Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Gaithersburg, Potomac, Rockville, Silver Spring and Washington DC communities. Study groups include specialized book sessions, lunch and dinner groups, lecture series and meet the author luncheons. In May 2012, we hosted a spectacular event featuring Aviva Kempner, Washington based filmmaker who wrote, produced and directed "You-Hoo Mrs. Goldberg" and Jason Fraley, film critic and Morning Drive writer for radio station WTOP. He is a filmmaker, journalist and film buff. The Greater Washington DC area is not short of intellectuals. Many of our members are retired government workers, solo practitioners, and some still work! We offer an environment that shares an appreciation for continuing education, sustaining the mind, and identifying ways in which we can help our local community.
