Book Sales
In 1958, the first used book sale took place. Called "New Books for Old," it was an innovative approach to raising money. Today there are many book sales in communities throughout the United States, organized by dedicated volunteers. There are two permanent bookstores operated by volunteers (see right margin). All books are donated, and the proceeds replenish the Brandeis library shelves.
