Sustaining the Mind: Scientific Research and Scholarships

Every 68 seconds an American develops Alzheimer’s disease. Parkinson's is the second most common degenerative disorder.  And there's no cure.

As people are living longer, neurodevelopment disorders have become a global epidemic.  At the same time government funding for scientific research is shrinking.  Private support is important to help bridge the gap so that a cure can be found for these devastating diseases.

The Sustaining the Mind $3 million campaign will  support neuroscience research at Brandeis and establish an endowed scholarship for students in the sciences.

Our talented Brandeis professors and students work in over 50 state of the art research labs, seeking to understand the fundamental biological processes underlying brain function.  Research is the key to finding a cure.

When you support Sustaining the Mind, you are making an investment in tomorrow's scientists and neurodegenerative disease research.

Donor Stories

Sylvia Schenker

"I donated to Sustaining the Mind for my family and friends who have suffered from insidious neurological diseases. I am hopeful that reasearch at Brandeis will move things along. It is important that answers be found. Brandeis is making this possible" - in memory of her beloved husband, Bud Schenker. Read their story here.
