Sustainability at Brandeis

"Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." ~ The Brundtland Commission

The Campus Sustainability Initiative is charged with reducing Brandeis' environmental and climate change impact. The initiative is a collaborative effort between many departments, offices, academic disciplines and student groups. Creating a sustainable campus is an exciting opportunity to continue Brandeis' history of connecting academic theory with social justice practice.

We hope you use this Web site to learn more about the university's environmental impact, the steps we are currently taking to meet our goals, plans for the future and how you can get involved. Check back soon for more information about food, purchasing, buildings and an overview of climate change.
