Rosalie Ripaldi Shane, Cochair

Rosalie Ripaldi Shane was born in Boston and has lived in the surrounding communities to the city her whole life. She is an artist who works in oils and watercolor and exhibits in the Boston area and on Martha’s Vineyard.

She manages the Saxonville Studios in Framingham, which she founded in 1989, where she and 14 other artists work and exhibit. Her work has been described as “lyrical contemporary realism” with a clarity of vision and an interesting play of vitality and precision.

Ms. Shane also studied at the Massachusetts College of Art and the Decordova Museum school. She is a member of the Copley Society, the Cambridge Art Association, a Distinguished Artist Member of the Concord Art Association and President of the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association.

Rosalie Shane has kept close ties with Brandeis since her graduation. She has been a member of the Board of Hillel at Brandeis for more than 20 years and currently serves as Co-President of the Board with her husband, Jim Shane. She and Jim are also members of the Board of Directors of Hillel International.

Rosalie and Jim Shane have been married for 36 years and have two daughters, Robin and Nancy. She and her husband were founding members of Temple Shir Tikva in Wayland where Rosalie also served on the board. She remains active in the Shir Tikva community where she sings in the choir.
