Scholar Rosalind Barnett has received funds from Gary David Goldberg and Diana Meehan to host a series of annual Ann Richards' Invitational Gender and the Media Roundtables.  The aim of the roundtables is to foster better dialogue between researchers and media to dispel myths, share ideas, and improve coverage of a variety of subjects affecting women.  Participants will include social scientists, journalists, and such other stakeholders as labor leaders and policy makers.

The inaugural roundtable will be held on Oct. 24th, 2008 at the Women's Studies Research Center at Brandeis University.  The topic for this roundtable is Older Workers: Benefits and Obstacles for Women's and Men's Continued Employment.
