Current Project

Corbató’s exhibit, “Absolution of the Wind,” including recent images from Plum Island, will be at Rubin-Frankel Gallery, Boston University, fall 2009. She continues to develop “Detours”, her series of photographic diversions, and “Avanim”, work with roots in Judaic tradition. She has begun a new series, “Glorious Women”, depicting strong, confident, sometimes humorous women of refreshingly emboldened spirit.

Biography

Corbató’s work has been shown at The Art Institute of Boston (2009), Jewish University of America (2009), Hebrew College (2008), and Women’s Museum, Dallas (2008). She was in “New England/New Talent” at Fitchburg Art Museum (2006). Her solo exhibits include Providence College (2008), Newton Free Library (2007), Great Neck Art Center (NY) (2006), New England Conservatory (NEC, 2005), Boston Public Library, Photographic Resource Center, Cambridge Art Association, Dean’s Gallery (MIT), Curry, Emmanuel and Merrimack Colleges. “The Stata Center, MIT” (2004) and “Jews of Ukraine” (2002) have been exhibited numerous times.

Corbató’s work is in the collections of: MIT Museum, Computer History Museum (CA), Fitchburg Art Museum, Merrimack College, Yivo Archives (NY), New England Conservatory, Brandeis University and private collections throughout the United States.

As a pianist Corbató has performed at Carnegie Recital and Merkin Halls, and the National Gallery. As guest of Women’s Studies and Music Departments throughout the United States she has performed compositions by women, both historical and contemporary, premiering many new works written for her. She has recorded for Orion and CRI.
