The WSRC Internship Experience: Student-Scholar Partners (SSP) is a unique and innovative unpaid internship program that matches undergraduate men and women with scholars at the Women's Studies Research Center at Brandeis University. The students and scholars work collaboratively on research or artistic projects that focus on women's issues. Past partnerships have been amazingly successful and students have gained new skills and contacts through their experiences.
At the beginning of each semester, the SSP Coordinator receives project proposals from Scholars at the WSRC and faculty members affiliated with the Women’s Studies Program. Each proposal includes a description of the research project and the role the student will play. These project proposals are available on our website during the recruiting period in the "Project Summaries" section.
If a student is interested in applying for a partnership, they should complete this application form and return two copies of the application and supporting materials to the Women's Studies Research Center to Kristen Mullin, SSP Coordinator. Applications are subsequently forwarded to the appropriate Scholar. Each Scholar then reviews the application, schedules an interview if appropriate and selects the student with whom s/he wants to work. The final step in the partnership formation process is an orientation meeting during which program expectations and ideas about mentoring are explained.
Undergraduate Students in all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
