FAQ
Former president Bill Clinton will deliver the inaugural lecture of the Eli J. Segal Citizen Leadership Program on Monday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. in the main arena of the Gosman Sports and Convocation Center.
Please read the following FAQ for more information:When should I arrive for the event?
Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Doors will close shortly before President Clinton’s arrival. Please be seated no later than 1:30 p.m.
Where do I enter?
Entry is through the field house doors leading into the main arena. Brandeis community members should use Squire Bridge to cross South Street.
May I park at the arena?
There is no parking at the arena. For more detailed parking information, please refer to public safety director Ed Callahan’s Nov. 30 e-mail to the university community.
What items are required for entry into the arena?
Please bring your event ticket and an ID card. If you have questions about your ticket, please contact Lorna Miles (ext. 6-4213), Alwina Bennett (ext. 6-3546) or Trudy Crosby (ext. 6-2116).
What security measures will be in place?
All attendees must pass through a metal detector. More than 5,000 people have registered for the event, so please allow plenty of time.
What items may I bring into the arena?
You may bring a book, a candy or granola bar and a small purse.
What items are prohibited from being brought into the arena?
You may not bring backpacks, cell phones, personal cameras, video recorders or signs and banners into the arena.
What about binoculars?
Binoculars are not necessary, as the event will be projected onto jumbo televisions inside the arena.
What may I do after I’m seated and waiting for the event to begin?
There will be pre-event entertainment, including a slideshow and videos on the jumbo televisions, and performances by the Branches Pan Groove Steel Orchestra and Boston’s City Year Service Corps.
When does the event end?
The event will end at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Will there be a live webcast of the event?
Yes. Point your browser to http://go.brandeis.edu/live/. Be sure that the latest version of QuickTime is installed on your computer.
Will the event be shown on campus?
Yes. A live broadcast can be seen in the Shapiro Theater at the Shapiro Campus Center.
