Janet Aronson, MA
Graduate Research Associate
Janet Aronson is a Graduate Research Associate at the Cohen Center for Modern Jewish Studies and Steinhardt Social Research Institute. She was a member of the first cohort of the Barnard College/Jewish Theological Seminary double-degree program, in which she earned bachelor's degrees in computer science and Bible. She earned a certificate in graphic design from Northeastern University and an MA in applied sociology from University of Massachusetts -Boston. Janet is currently a doctoral student at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University, where she concentrates on education policy.
Prior to joining the Cohen Center, Janet worked as a computer programmer, a systems analyst, and a graphic designer. She has been a teacher at Boston area synagogue schools and has taught undergraduate sociology courses at UMass-Boston. At SSRI, Janet is assisting on a research synthesis of national US surveys in order to estimate the size of the Jewish population.
