Social Media Audit

Social media is getting a facelift in our new website templates. We’ve chosen a social media integration product that will aggregate and display social content on your site. Not only is it easy to use, it will look great, too!

What You Need to Do

Review your existing channels and consider the following:

  • Content. We recommend posting 2-3 times a week on Facebook and at least once a day on Twitter. Look at the History Department, Classical Studies Department, and Hiatt Career Center for examples of content strategies that are working well.
  • Management. If you cannot maintain content and posting frequency on a specific channel, you are empowered to delete it. We’d like to avoid inactive channels that can be found by search engines.
  • Access. Have individuals who managed your social media channels left the organization? Remove their access and develop a transition plan, if needed.

Please Note

Engaging in social media should be done only when you have determined it is the right fit for your needs and resources, based on the content strategy considerations above. You do not need to create new social media channels for the redesign. Contact Allie Morse for guidance.
