Working with Google Forms

You’ve decided to use Google Forms to collect your information. Please use the following theme settings.

FORMATTING A GOOGLE FORM

Create a new form. Click the Change theme in the toolbar.

Along the right side of the page, you will see a vertical column with a list of default themes. Select the first option, the Basic theme, then select Customize

The right-hand column now displays a list of options.

Title: Change the Font from Roboto to Arial and change the text size from Extra-Large to Large.

Click on Text Color. A menu will expand where you can select a color. Choose Custom.

A color picker window will appear. In the text field, input: #003399. Click OK.

Description: Change the Font from Roboto to Arial. Then, change the text size to Extra-Small.

Question, Help text, Options: In these three fields, change the font from Roboto to Arial.

Additionally, for the Question section only, change the text color to black.

Form Background: Change the “Background color” and the “Border color” to white.

Page background: Change the “Background color” to white.

EMBEDDING A GOOGLE FORM ON A ZETA INNER PAGE

1. When you are finished formatting your form, you’ll need to capture the embed code. At the bottom of your form, click Send form.

2. A new window will appear. Click Embed.

3. A new window will appear with your form code. Under the “Custom size” area, change the width to “390.”

Once you have adjusted the form size, you may now select all of the HTML code and copy it to your clipboard.

4. In the CMS, select the page on which you’d like the form to appear. Click Edit.

5. Under the Content tab, scroll to the Main Content WYSIWYG Editor and select HTML.

6. Paste the code into the editor, and click Update.

7. You will see a yellow placeholder box appear in the WYSIWYG editor.

8. Click on the Metadata tab.

9. In the field Long Name for page heading, insert one space by putting your cursor in the field and clicking the space bar on your keyboard.

10. Click Submit.

11. Your form should appear on the page. If you make future edits to the form in Google, they will automatically appear on the CMS page. You do not need to re-embed the code.
