Welcome
The Department of Global Communications works in cooperation with the Brandeis Office of Global Affairs to encourage, plan and publicize work by university faculties and institutes on international issues.
The department originated and now manages the Brandeis University Spotlight Forum series, which presents Brandeis faculty and distinguished guests in discussions of international affairs at the Old State House in downtown Boston and on campus.
The department encourages and actively promotes programs that engage faculty from a variety of disciplines, that recognize connections between local engagement and international affairs and that involve student-faculty collaboration. Such programs have included a Martin Luther King Day observance focusing on Dr. King’s view on war as applied to Vietnam and Iraq, a comparison of the partitions of Ireland, Israel and India and a 10-day series of events on environmental sustainability and climate change.
