Charles A. Radin
Charles A. Radin was named director of global operations and communications at Brandeis in April 2007.
He formerly worked at The Boston Globe for more than 30 years, serving as Middle East bureau chief from 2001 to 2005, Far East bureau chief from 1993 to 1996, and a general-assignment foreign correspondent during the 1980s and 1990s. Following the collapse of the Berlin Wall, he reported on numerous major issues in Europe, including the wars in former Yugoslavia, the strengthening of the European Community and problems associated with mass immigration.
Radin also has extensive journalistic experience in East and North Africa, particularly in Somalia, Ethiopia and Libya.
He also was a Globe specialist on race and ethnicity and on religion, winning the American Academy of Religion's first place award for in-depth reporting on religion in 2006.
Radin is the originator of the Brandeis Spotlight Series, which he says works best when faculty propose the topics.
