Fixes

Display Name Editing

The May 1, 2013, CMS upgrade introduced a bug to the system.

What is it?

The issue occurs on the Metadata tab on an existing page or folder. You cannot leave the Display Name or Title fields blank. Though it appears that you can delete text, once you click Submit, the change is not made.

Who does this effect?

This bug is a problem for those who no longer want a page or folder to appear in the left navigation by deleting its display name.

What is the solution?

Hannon Hill is working to fix the issue but the solution date is unknown.

In the zeta templates, we have a workaround for the problem:

SOLUTION: Un-index the page.
  1. Click to edit the page.
  2. Under the System tab, uncheck Index/Include when indexing. Click Submit.

New Function

System Emails

What is it?

The CMS will send emails to editors who use news story assets and enter an end date in the metadata. Editors will receive a total of three emails (two warnings and one expiration notice) from "Cascade Server."

Who does this effect?

This new function is available to those editors who use the news story asset.

What are the options?

If you would like to be notified of a news story asset expiration date, you do not have to do anything.

If you do not want to be notified of a news story asset expiration date, you must use archive date instead of end date.

ACTION: Use Archive Date.
  1. Click to edit the news asset.
  2. Under the Content tab, enter an Archive Date.

    archive date field shot
  3. Under the Metadata tab, leave the End Date field blank.

    End Date screen shot
  4. Click Submit to save your changes.
