The Web team has rolled out new functionality for dynamically generated sidebar content and multiple photo captioning in the Cascade CMS.

Dynamically generated sidebar content

You may now input multiple sidebar items that will appear one at a time and change upon page refresh. This functionality is available for homepage templates A, B, C, D and E, and also for inner pages. You may continue to leave the sidebar blank, or input only one sidebar item and have it remain static, as before.

To create multiple sidebar items that will change upon page refresh, click the plus (+) sign in the Sidebar Option area to input additional items. You may preview this functionality by refreshing this page.

If you have sidebar content that you would like to share between pages, you may now create a sidebar page (New -> Shareable Right Sidebar) and assign it to multiple pages by using the file chooser at the bottom of the Sidebar Option area on those pages (see "Or select a sidebarOption page").

Multiple photo captioning

In addition to the sidebar functionality, we have also rolled out new functionality that allows you to insert multiple captioned images in the main content area on inner pages.

To do this, click the plus (+) sign in the Optional Image With Caption area to insert additional images. Please do not place images Top Right and Top Left on a single page, as your text will be squeezed into a column between those images.

We suggest placing your first image Top Right. You may stack images below it by continuing to select the Top Right option for subsequent images. You may also stack images at Bottom Left.

For tips on image sizing, please see Best Practices.
