Post-Qaddafi Libya: A Status Report

Romanet Perroux will provide a brief overview of Libya's contemporary history in order to highlight two major challenges the country faces today: the lack of State institutions and the lack of national identity. He will also articulate the main drivers of politics in Libya, beyond the political discourse.

Jean-Louis Romanet Perroux is a doctoral researcher at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and has conducted research and worked in Libya from November 2011 until December 2013. His core focus is the role of civil society and local governance in democratic transition. Before undertaking his doctoral studies, Romanet Perroux was an Air Force Pilot and instructor in the Italian Air Force.
