Fall 2016 UDR Prize Recipients

The work that Selen Amado, Dena Goldblatt, Caroline Kaye and Danya Schlussel have performed for their department is valuable and creative.  Their initiatives have strengthened communication between faculty, students and alumni and enabled students to envision psychology opportunities within and beyond Brandeis. The  department, its majors, and students at large have benefited from their insights and efforts.

The initiatives for which the Psychology UDRs are being recognized are:

  • Psychology Minor Survey
They worked with the Registrar's office to survey hundreds of students, who have taken at least one psychology course, to gauge the interest level in trying to establish a psychology minor at Brandeis. They are currently compiling and analyzing the survey to develop a proposal that they will present to the department faculty.
  • Psychology Alumni Career Panel
Eleven alumni were recruited to come to Brandeis to speak about how they utilized their psychology degrees in graduate study programs and careers.  The event was organized as a moderated panel discussion followed by opportunities for questions and networking.
  • Psychology Research Night
Representatives from psychology and labs were available to discuss opportunities for getting involved in research and scholarship. The lab representatives talked about the types of research that they do and students could sign up for receiving emails from that lab as well as ask questions.
