Panel IV "Borderline Citizens"
Conference Venue:
Tisch Gallery (part of the University Art Galleries) in the Aidekman Arts Center was the site for conference presentations. Refreshments were served in adjacent foyers. The current exhibition housed in the Tisch Gallery is Edward Burtynsky's "The China Series" (showing until April 1, 2007), photographs of Chinese industry and landscapes, articulating their relationships and narratives of progress and suffering.
The Slater Concourse Gallery will be housing exhibits from GBAC anthropology departments Brandeis University and Tufts University. Exhibits will show March 5-30, 2007.

A couple of blocks after that intersection, turn right into Tufts Parking Garage.
Pull up to the gate, hit the button labeled "Visitor" and the gate will open.
When leaving the garage, hit the white button that will connect you to the Dispatch Office. Simply alert the Dispatch that you have attended the GBAC conference and they will open the exit gate for you.

The Aidekman Arts Center is approximately 10 minutes from the "T" stop on foot. Take the red line to Davis Square. Exit the Davis Square station on the College Avenue side. Take a right out of the station onto College Avenue and walk to the Powder House Rotary. Walk around the rotary to to continue walking straight ahead along College Avenue, keeping the playing fields on your left. Just after the playing fields, take your first left on to Lower Campus Road. The Aidekman Arts Center is the first building past the construction on your right. Enter the Aidekman Arts Center through the Remis Sculpture Court doors.
Transportation and Parking:
Participants are encouraged to make independent arrangements for transportation to and from the conference venue at Tufts University. Car-pooling is particularly encouraged.

Those attending the conference are invited to park in the garage adjacent to Aidekman Arts Center off of Boston Avenue (see map). Enter the garage and pull up to the gate, hit the button labeled "Visitor" and the gate will open.
Take the elevator to the 7th floor of Dowling Hall. Take a right outside the elevator. Cross over the footbridge onto campus and walk straight across the quad down to Professor's Row. Cross over to Latin Way and take a left on Talbot Avenue. Aidekman Arts Center will be a short distance down Talbot Avenue on the right hand side.

Food:
Light refreshments will be available at a buffet-style breakfast at the morning check-in, and coffee/tea will be available throughout the day. Reception refreshments will be catered Midwest Grill, specializing in Brazilian cuisine from the Minas Gerias region of the country. Lunch will be held at the University Campus Center; participants will pay their own.
Discussants will chair the panels and serve as timekeepers. Presenters will be held strictly to the 15 minute time limit.
