The new Carl J. Shapiro Science Center is open and has quickly become a bustling center of scientific research.

The cornerstone of the university’s science complex renewal project, the Shapiro Science Center provides two floors of chemistry and biology teaching labs and classrooms, three floors devoted to research labs, and a spacious atrium.

The family of Carl and Ruth Shapiro made a generous naming gift for the 100,000-square-foot complex, which opened in February 2009.
