Randall M. Colaizzi received his B.A. in English (Medieval and Renaissance) from University of Wisconsin, Madison; his M.A. in Latin, C. Phil. in Classics, and Ph.D. in Classics from University of California at Berkeley, where he wrote his dissertation on "The Voice of the Poeta in Propertius, Elegies 2." He has taught, most recently, at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, Wellesley College, and Boston College. Professor Colaizzi's chief research interests are Latin literature, ancient comedy, and the Classical tradition. He is currently working on a new book: Innovative Tradition: The Discovery Scenes of Plautus. We are pleased to have Professor Colaizzi with us in spring 2009, when he will be teaching "The Art and Archaeology of Ancient Rome" and "Topics in Greek and Roman Art and Archaeology: The Ancient Cities of Vesuvius," while Professor Ann Olga Koloski-Ostrow is on leave.
