LICENSURE (CERTIFICATE) REQUIREMENTS
If you are interested in qualifying for a Latin Teaching License (formerly Certificate) to teach Latin in secondary schools in most states, first contact Professor Patricia A. Johnston, who can apprise you of your language course requirements.
The Department of Classical Studies works with the Interdepartmental Program in Education on Latin teaching licensure. For more information from the Education Program or to choose your licensure course requirements, contact the program director, Marya Levenson. To access more information about

Plan your course of instruction with Education and Classics early so as to ensure sufficient time to complete the course sequence. A license to teach Latin in secondary schools adds depth to your education as well as to your curriculum vitae. In omnia paratus....
